History of Our Practice

Welcome to the office of Suburban Ear, Nose & Throat Specialists, Ltd.

The practice was founded in the early 1970’s by Dr. Robert Meyers after completing his Otolaryngology Residency at the University of Illinois. The practice grew, and Dr. Robert Miller joined the practice in 1978. Dr. Miller went to Cincinnati to complete a Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship, and Dr. Nicholas Lygizos joined the practice. In 1997, after completing a two-year Pediatric Otolaryngology Fellowship, Dr. Walner joined the practice. Dr. Francis Casper joined the practice in July of 2000 and Dr. Gregory Bussell joined the practice the following year.

Our practice enjoys a common “heritage,” in that all the doctors received their residency training at the University of Illinois, Eye and Ear Infirmary. We have each continued our academic affiliations at hospitals involved in Resident Education, including the University of Illinois, Eye and Ear Infirmary, Childrens’ Memorial Hospital, Cook County Hospital, Lutheran General Hospital, and Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center.

Our practice has been committed to excellence in patient care since its inception. Each of our partners has expertise that complements the other and allows us to offer the highest quality of care in all aspects of pediatric and adult Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery.

We are pleased you have chosen your care in our office.
